90% Demetria Vineyard, 4% Rodney's Vineyard, 3% Camp Four Vineyard, 1% Tierra Alta Vineyard, 1% Rancho Boa Vista, 1% Kimsey Vineyard
2014 was a warm vintage that started and ended a month earlier than usual. The wines tell the story from this compressed growing season where vineyards that were harvested early maintain their freshness, however, anything left out to ‘normal’ pick dates show really ripe.
55% Grenache, 27% Cinsault, 13% Syrah, 3% Counoise, 1% Mourvedre, 1% Carignane
For this wine, each batch was fermented separately in 1.5 ton lots. The grenache fermentations had varying concentrations of whole clusters left in from 20% - 100%. The other varieties were destemmed completely. Time on skins ranged from 10 to 30 days with the grenache fermentations on skins the longest. All lots were aged in small and large format neutral French oak, and only racked at bottling. We produced 565 cases of this wine.

Now - 2017
This wine is fresh and delicious upon release, but those with patience will be rewarded with more depth and complexity over the next 5-7 years. Our 2013 Bright Red bottling shows a nose of licorice, pure cherries, cranberries, dried herbs. The mouth is slightly rustic, yet balanced by cherry, red currant, and bittersweet chocolate flavors. The medium body and round tannins finish bright and minerally.
